Toy Tuesday Giveaway-$250 Gift Card to Toys R Us!

Would you believe I have that same house in front of me on the coffee table as I type this?! My destruct-o-bot two year old managed to rip most of the paper “siding” off the front this week, after it had stayed intact for probably 30 years… we got it at a garage sale when we first moved into the neighborhood and I must have shrieked like you did when I saw it and dinged the little doorbell, even more when I saw that they wanted $10 for it and another $10 for the farmhouse (remember that one?!). I could only justify one so we got this one.

My daughter wants dog toys and my son wants robot toys although I think there is probably some leeway. A wooden trainset and bicycles are up there, too.

My kids aren’t being really vocal about what they want this year. The baby is too small to really say. My 3yo wants every single thing he sees on tv. My 8 and 9 year old haven’t said anything they want but I know they would love video games and crafty stuff. My 16 yo will likely want money but I won’t give her that. She will probably get clothes and/or jewelry.

Kids get harder and harder to buy for it seems!

My 3.5yr old tells me he wants cookies when I ask lol. We got him a vtech camera, and 2 games(Candy Land and Chutes & Ladders) and are still looking for a couple more things. So far for my 8month old daughter we are undecided, we need to look around this weekend!

My girls have gone through two loving family dollhouses; the first two outgrew theirs, then the younger girls were given one. They have all loved the loving family people–especially our son. He puts them in tractors and trucks, and uses them with his linking logs!
Would love to have some more legos to add to the collection, as well as a couple of games to play together.

my son wants anything with wheels! he loves cars, trucks, bull dozers and dump trucks. i would really like to get a wagon for him though.

My nephew is wanting that Playskool Kota and Pals Monty T-Rex. It is pretty pricey though, so I am not sure Santa will be able to afford it! BTW I did not have your dollhouse as a little girl, but I did have one similar to it!

I really want some Melissa and Doug puzzles for my son. He loves them!

My daughter has been wanting a camera or a learning laptop for kids. My son has been wanting the zhu zhu pet (I did finally get one) and the zippity. This giveaway if I am so lucky could be the greatest thing as far as stress..I haven’t completed my Christmas Shopping yet. I did not have the same doll house as you did but I had a little wooden one my uncle gave me. I let my cousin use it at her house for a night because my mom told me too..lol She completely demolished it. I cried for 2 days over that doll house. My youngest daughter has a plastic dollhouse that I bought for $10 and she takes really great care of hers so maybe hers will last a long time.

My little man is wanting anything with balls. He loves balls so I wanted to get him a ball pit. He would be in heavan if he had a ball pit.

I did not have the same dollhouse as you, but my neighbor did. I had a barbie house with an elevator. I did love playing with my dollhouse and the neighbors too.

My kids want money… ok they are older, but they feel like they can “get what they want” as long as the money comes from mom and dad. I guess it isn’t that bad (as they are older) as it can teach them just how far money “doesn’t” go these days. However we will likely not go that route and instead try to ferret out the real wants so we can buy them ON SALE!

My kids are too small to know what they want, but they would buy stock in Veggie Tales if they could!

Wii games are the thing this Christmas. I had a metal dollhouse when I was young, would have loved a “real” one.

My older son wants Star Wars figures and my younger son loves anything from Hot Wheels. I’d really love to buy my baby girl a dollhouse. It’s been my dream to have one, ever since I was a child. We didn’t have the money when I was a child.

My boys really want BMX bikes for Christmas this year – and anything Lego!

My 4 year old daughter wants an art easel and a broom (no joke), my year old wants a Cars toddler bed with Tinkerbell sheets, and my 6 month old can’t wait for the wrapping paper. I am giving her fabric blocks that I made.

YES! I had the same doll house and so many other amazing Little People items. My parents still have it in a mystery location within their house.

Well, my son doesn’t really want anything yet because he’s 16 months (or he wants everything!) but we got him the Melissa and Doug piano!

Both of my daughters really want the MindFlex Game thingy. They think its super cool to try and move things with your mind alone! But jeesh, its pretty expensive! The cheapest I have seen it has been for $79! Sure hope I win:)

My older boy tells me he would love anything batman, while my little one seems to be memorized by cookie monster. I did not have that dollhouse, but do have a similiar one we got a few years ago.

My godson really wants Elmo Hands this christmas. He has been pretty good so he might just get his wish from Santa.

My 5 year old is so excited for Christmas this year! We aren’t getting our kids a lot, because of the nice economy. My oldest daughter wants Strawberry Shortcake stuff, Barbies, High School Musical stuff, and clothes. My almost 3 year old has discovered Blues Clues and asked for Blues Clues things. My 5 month old wants some new toys and clothes!

OMG!!!! I’ve been entering dilligently for these toy tuesday giveaways each day hoping I’d win, but now I will have to cross all my fingers, toes, eyes, arms, legs and anything else crossable. TRU is the one I really really really want!!! We were just in TRU the other day shopping for my niece and nephew when my girls saw one of the FP Powerwheels cars. Both girls were like “Can we please have that? We’ll be really nice and share and take turns?” First, I have to say that my kids rarely ask for anything. They don’t have the gimmees (yet) and before this had only asked for those hairy koosh balls for Christmas (which I got them – also from TRU). A couple years ago I got a great deal on one of those cars for my nephew for his BDay and the girls love to play with it when they go over to visit (I know . . . I should have gotten two when I got his ( !) I would be thrilled to be able to get them the one thing they really want. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

I would love to stumble upong my childhood dollhouses – I had one that was a tree house with a little crank elevator, and a 4-room open back tin house (actually belonged to my older sister)

I don’t have any kids of my own, but I do have an eight year old sister that I love to buy and make stuff for. She has asked for an American Girl Doll and clothes for it. She also has a few DS games on her list as well as a Wii.

My son has asked for a nerf blaster, which will be under the tree. My daughter has asked for barbie furniture which we were also able to get.

I did have one of those houses, and loved it. Long after my Mom had given away the house, we still had the people and car. lol

I LOVE LOVE doll houses. I’ve always wanted one!! Now, with 3 boys, I doubt I will… at least not for a while.

The one thing my kids want this year are Lego! They are dying to get their creative little minds wrapped around their lego piles.

I actually had that exact doll house! I remember playing with it when I was little but it had been handed down from, I think, my aunt, who is just 10 years older than I am! My daughter has the Little People doll house (she is almost 5 and still plays with it) and the Barbie Dream House, which was my way of living through her because I never had one but always wanted one!
What my daughter really wants for Christmas this year is the new Strawberry Shortcake doll that comes with the “magic wand” to put makeup on her and hair extensions. She also wants a Zhu Zhu pet but her #1 on her Christmas list is an iPhone. We do not believe that kids should have phones let alone iPhones. I really wish that there was an iPhone toy! She loves our phones because she can play games on them while talking to someone! Don’t expect a child’s toy to make calls but it would be great if there was a toy out there that looked like an iPhone and had educational games on it that look like apps.

My son has been asking for Bakugan’s, Transformer & Star Wars Toys. My daughter is still young and doesn’t ask for anything specific. She does like Barbies & Baby Dolls though.

My four girls want all sorts of dolls and girly things like purses, baby beds, and dress-up.My two older girls would love new bikes. My one and only son is a big fan of all things MALE and would love to have his hands on a new army of matchbox cars and rescue heroes )

I have two absolutely adorable and precious little boys, ages 2 & 9months living in my home. They aren’t my children … they’re even better. They are my grandsons! I am blessed to no end that God has chosen me to be their Grandma.
Back in the early spring I was out shopping with the babies. We pulled into a parking spot and strapped down to the top of the van sitting beside us was a John Deere Gator. Lil Man saw it and fell in love. All through the store he kept asking for one. I explained to him that was an expensive toy to buy ‘just because’. I told him that was the kind of toy he asked Santa for. I honestly expected that to be the end of the conversation. BOY was I surprised!! Not a day has gone by, since that warm spring day in a K-Mart parking lot where he first saw the “Gator” that Lil Man hasn’t reminded me that is what he wants from Santa. This is his first Christmas to be fully involved in the understanding of Christmas, Santa, and all the glitz that goes with it. So on Christmas Eve we will read the Christmas Store from the book of Luke, we will read The Night Before Christmas, we will leave cookies for Santa, and we will tuck the babies in bed. After they are soundly asleep we will have a visit from Santa where a John Deere Gator will be delivered for one of the most precious little boys in the world.

My 3 year old was asked numerous times what she wants for Christmas, she always has the same answer. “Mommy, I want pretty clothes so I can look like a princess–Santa will bring me toys” Does toy-r-us sell clothes that will make my 3 year old feel like a princess? I hope so!!!

I will be buying my darling granddaughter Elmo stuff galore this year! However, I REALLY need to find stuff from the shows on Noggin & Sprout! Noddy, Blue, Dora to name a few – she lies that too!

My girls are asking for American girls this year and all of the fun things that go with them.

No dollhouse for me as a child. My dad starting making a homemade one but never finished! We are hoping to purchase a dollhouse for my daughter’s birthday next year. My husband will not be making one. LOL!

Anyhow, for Christmas my daughter would very much like the FurReal Friends Lulu My Cuddlin Kitty Cat by Hasbro and my toddler son prefers everything and anything Thomas the Tank Engine so he’s getting a Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway – Water Tower Figure 8 Set by Learning Curve.

My 8 year old has asked Santa for a Webkinz and a ‘hair streaker’. My toddler will be getting some Maisy books and a pop up tent with tunnels.

I had a similar house from Fisher Price. I think it was a little people house and I also had the schoolhouse, which was my favorite because it had a magnetic roof and you could stick alphabet letters to it. I also had the three story garage with the tiny little gas pump you could use to put gas in the little people cars. It had a really cool crank elevator, too. The cars would glide down a long ramp. Maybe this one was my favorite, actually.

I wish my kids would stick with one wish this year. They keep changing their minds. But so far the main items have stayed the same – one wants an Easy Bake Oven and the other a 20 inch bike. Very classic gifts that I am sure “Santa” will have no issues providing.

Hi Elizabeth: Oh, how I LOVED hearing your story and seeing one of my own favorite toys as a child. I was one of 7 kids, so our toy house took quite a beating…..but my Mom still has it. She was one to throw nearly everything away….do you blame her with 7 kids?! But — she did keep the house, garage and barn! I loved ringing the little doorbell!

I have that same house and it is played with by my son and his cousins every time we go to my mothers. I loved this dollhouse, I played with it for hours.

I have 2 amazing kids, ages 6 & 8. We asked them to write up a Christmas list for “Santa.” My son was the first to start, he’s the 6 year old. Fake bugs were at the top of his list this year. Then he notices that his sister is asking for a “robot that will clean her room for her and be her friend.” Of course my 6 year old thinks this is a GREAT idea and wants one too. Then she adds to her list an amusement park in the backyard. He runs to his list and starts asking me how to spell it. I told him it’s TRUMP. Apparently my kids think “Santa’s” last name has turned into Trump and think we have this huge yard for this sort of thing. I’m keeping these lists, labeling the back with their ages so they can see this when they get older and their children are asking for crazy things for Christmas. Gotta love em!

I have all boys, so no doll houses here. My 7 year old really wants Spongebob Operation, Connect 4×4, anything Bakugan, and games for the Wii and Ds. My 12 year old wants a drum set or a video camera. My 14 year old just wants games and a gold card for the Xbox 360. When I was little my favorite toy was the shape sorter from Tupperware(the red and blue ball with yellow shapes).

I’ve got 4 kiddos between 16 and 3 so the wish list is BIG and diverse. 16 wants an iPhone (um not till MOM gets one!), 10 wants anything with Edward on it (Twilight swoon), 5 is Wii obsessed!! He’s asked for a Wii Fit Plus (oh the power of TV!) and 3 wants Zhu Zhu pets like crazy. Sadly those toys don’t multiply like the rodents the resemble so I think she’ll have to play with the Girl Gourmet cupcake set she has also asked for. Daddy-claus and I got Rock Band for everyone, plus an extra guitar. We’re planning to lobby for a Partridge Family edition of the game (NOT!). OH and I DID have the SAME doll house (I got mine in 1972 and the roof was pink!)

When I was little I had a dollhouse that was made out of either aluminum or tin. That thing got beat up and all bent out of shape but I still loved it. Can you imagine the uproar if children’s toys were made that way today? It had lots of sharp edges just waiting to snag a piece of skin. I wish I remembered the name if it.

My little one is just 4 months old so he can’t tell me what he’d like but I want to get him the Leap Frog musical table, the Fisher Price Amazing Animals Rollin’ Around Jungle, the Fisher Price Stack ‘n Surprise Blocks and the Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Crawl & Cruise Musical Jungle.

I also can’t wait to buy him some Little People play sets when he’s a little older. My brothers and I used to have a few of the old sets, some of our people were even wooden.

I didn’t have that dollhouse growing up…everything I had was mostly Barbie…the Dreamhouse, the car, the jet, etc. Now that I think about it..Barbie had it pretty good!!!

For Christmas, my 5 year old has been begging for Zhu Zhu Hamsters. Thank goodness one of the stores up here put a limit on how many one customer could buy, because I was actually able to get her one to start with! My four year old really, really, wants Barbie dolls, Bratz, and clothes and shoes for them. She is really into Barbie right now, and wants the veterinarian Barbie.

And I was so surprised when I saw that dollhouse in your picture! I just bought a brown one, (it looks very similar but brown in color instead of yellow). I have been looking on Ebay to get the furniture for it. I am a sucker for dollhouses, I just love them!

I had that dollhouse also, but I think mine was an “older” version My boys (18 & 15) want a Wii and all the cool games that go with it.

My daughter wants a dollhouse this year. Were broke,so my husband built one out of scrap wood. I painted it, laid carpet scraps in it. To finish it off, I am modge podging little pictures of our family on the walls. It turned out really cute.

My daughter’s driving me insane by wanting Zhu Zhu Pets but I can’t seem to find them anywhere!

My son really wants the Handy Manny tool bench and my daughter wants the Dora dollhouse.

Toys R Us is a pretty great toy store, it has a huge range of toys.

I didn’t have that one but I had the other one with the blue roof and brown walls and I miss it too!

Our daughter wants crafts, and more crafts. Our son, Lego’s, especially the Star Wars sets.

Toys’R'Us are doing a fine job presenting children high quality products. I’m glad that such great toys are available to almost anyone and this beautiful house will soon find new owner.
