Things I’m Thinking About Today

1. Many of the blogs I comment on have the little CommentLuv icon under the comment field, but 9 times out of 10, it doesn’t pull my latest post.  I’d suggest checking to make sure you have the latest version of the CommentLuv plugin.

2. Should Conan O’Brien have spent $1.5 Million of NBC’s money on a CAR? Couldn’t he have bought $1.5 Million worth of computers, or library books, or gym equipment, or classroom supplies, and donated it to a school in the area on behalf of NBC?

3. Is Heidi Montag able to move her face yet?

4. A 21 year old Haiti man was found alive and was pulled from the rubble of a collapsed building. His mother had never given up hope that he would be found. This makes me incredibly happy and a little teary.

5. What the heck did I do to my back? It feels like an elephant stood on my back between my shoulder blades. I can barely move and it even hurts to catch my breath. I have some painkillers from when I wrenched my neck last year, so I took one of those, and it barely touched the pain. OW.

6. You know what sucks?  People who steal coffee supplies from the public library. Our township library is nice enough to provide a Coke machine as well as a coin-operated Keurig coffee maker. They have a basket with the Keurig K-cups, which cost the library 50 cents each. While chatting with one of the librarians who was working at the desk near the coffee machine, she told me that someone had stolen 12 K-cups recently. Here are they are, providing coffee and drinks to library patrons, which is surprising enough because I’ve never been in another library that did that, AND you’d think they would worry about liquids getting spilled on the books, but anyway, here are they are doing that, and people are STEALING the coffee supplies. Isn’t that one of the first things parents teach their toddlers, not to steal?

So that’s what’s been on my mind today. What have you been thinking about?

  1. Must go and look to see if my Comment Luv is working right. I think hubby (TechyDad) updated everything recently. I hope your back feels better soon. Horrible how people that take things that are not theirs can ruin a good things. *sigh*

#2 – Was it his money/salary, or an NBC expense check type thing? I seem to remember him driving an old beat up Taurus for years and years even when he was on Late Night and doing quite well.

#6 – Well that’s just mean. :( People aren’t taught manners/respect as much as they used to, IME.

I’m a librarian…and I’m telling you, if it’s not nailed down…it’s stolen. We had a laptop available for public use, and one Saturday a patron had a seizure in our computer lab. While dealing with that medical emergency, someone stole the laptop. Nice, eh?

I’d love to see your library…that’s awesome that a library offers drinks!

That is totally sad about people stealing K-cups from the library. I think that is totally awesome that your library offers drinks, and its a shame that some people have to ruin it for others by taking advantage in that way.

As far as #2, apparently you are one of the people he spoke to during his last joke with the People, it’s a JOKE. It’s not REAL! He did stuff like that 3 days in a row, but did not actually spend that money.

    Hey.

Women carry their stress between their shoulder blades so that *could* be part of the problem but I wanted to know if it hurts more on one side than the other? The thing that caught my attention is the breathing part and the fact that your pain killers aren’t touching it. About 3 years ago I woke from a nap in horrible pain that had those two issues and it just seemed to get worse no matter what I did. I finally made an appointment to see my doctor (only it wasn’t him, I saw his dad instead.) They had to take steroids and inject them underneath my shoulder blade, which SOUNDS incredibly painful but it really wasn’t bad at all and I am a WIMP when it comes to needles, so that’s saying something. Within minutes I felt relief and within a day or two it was probably 80% back to normal and then got better every day. It still flares up from time to time but I’ve never had to go back for another shot. Something about tissue rubbing on bone that’s suppose to have lubrication there that doesn’t, but the dad doctor was the quiet, just-walk-in-and-treat-the-patient-no-explanation type of doctor so I didn’t think to ask. Regardless, if it’s similar, it won’t get better until you have it done, but the good news is that it will get better immediately afterwards. :)

    Hope you feel better soon.

JJ – It was just a muscle strain, I took a prescription Naproxen (which is what Aleve is), took a nap, and woke up and the pain was gone. Also? The painkiller I took? A Flexeril (or however you spell it) that Chris found in the medicine cabinet which was dated 2004. No wonder it didn’t work! Thanks for the concern Sissy! love ya :)

  8. sorry your back hurts! i carry all my stress right there as well – such a pain!

i’m thinking about my girls and wondering why they are fighting all the time and fearing when they become teenagers because we probably haven’t seen nothin’ yet!

  9. A sore back is quite uncomfortable and I know how it feels as I also injured my back and from time to time it gets stiff. What works for me is strecthing my hamstring muscles. Bascially put one leg up say on a rail waist high, then lean your upper body {with your leg straight} and tilt your head forward, hold it where you feel the stretch on your hamstring mucle and hold it for say 30 seconds, repeat on the other leg and do 3 to four sets twice a day, it will really help
    Hope you feel better soon

Conan is rich, filthy rich, haha.

That’s too bad about the library. Some morons will steal anything they can, though.
