this giveaway is closed.
Kraft Foods, makers of products like Oreos, Ritz crackers, Stove Top stuffing, and Maxwell House coffee, have re-launched their Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages to make it even easier for busy cooks to find great recipes and cooking tips. On their terrific recipe site, Kraft has a Community forum where you can ask questions and share your favorite recipes. I’m not exactly a pro in the kitchen, and I subscribe to Kraft Food & Family magazine for dinner tips, and also rely heavily on the Budget Wi$e section of the Kraft website, especially their “1 Bag, 5 Dinners” menus. We also use a lot of Kraft Food products, so I’m thrilled to be helping them with this giveaway!
To help spread the word about all the ways you can interact with Kraft Foods, they sent me a gift basket full of products, and will send one to the winner of this giveaway.

The HUGE gift basket is packed with food and kitchen items including new varieties of Ritz crackers, Velveeta Rotini & Cheese, and Wheat Thins.
The products in the gift basket are NEW Ritz Brown Sugar & Cinnamon crackers, Oreos, Planters Cocktail Peanuts, Honey Maid Cinnamon Grahams, Stove Top Stuffing, NEW Wheat Thins Flatbread crackers, Maxwell House coffee, Planters Pecan halves, Baker’s Semi-Sweet chocolate, Kraft salad dressing, Jet-Puffed marshmallows, NEW Velveeta Whole Grain Rotini & Cheese, a garlic peeler, a wooden spoon, and recipe cards.
Wanna guess how long all of this lasted in my house? The only thing we haven’t finished is the can of coffee! Those Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Ritz crackers? I would have never in a million years guessed that I would love those as much as I did. I can’t wait for them to be available in stores!
Kraft Foods has generously donated another gift basket to a Table for Five reader to win in this giveaway. It’s got to be super-quick though, I need to end the giveaway this Friday so the sponsor can get the basket mailed out early next week. Here’s how to enter!
WIN IT: For your main entry, Kraft Foods would like your feedback on their Facebook page, Twitter page, and YouTube Channel. Please visit those sites and then come back here and tell me what you thought of them. What do you think it means to the consumer to be able to interact with Kraft Foods using social networking? Enter by this Friday, Feb. 05 at 1:00 PM EST.

I think the sites look great & user friendly.
I like the YouTube Channel best—when I’m following a new recipe, I must have a picture of the final project. This is even better! To be honest, I don’t use Facebook and I don’t follow Twitter, so those wouldn’t be helpful to me at all.

I am most impressed by Kraft’s FB page that has a tab called “brands” with quick links to the websites for all their products. The youtube Kraft Foods Channel is an interesting idea, but I personally prefer just having a recipe and a pic, not an entire video.

The FB page is just…. interesting. Not always positive, and it just seems… off to me. I’ve also never gotten into twitter, so that part confuses me as well. I totally get when small companies or work-at-home parents have a FB or twitter account, but those seem much more like real human people (and are as I know my fair share of WAHM’s!) than a giant conglomgeration of a company that really doesn’t care whether this mama buys Velveeta or not.

I like that their Facebook page has a tab for recipes. One thing is, I think they should have a Fans filter on their FB page though, as their wall can get clogged since they have over 72,000 fans and that makes it hard for someone to get useful information.
I like what they tweet and prefer Twitter over anything. It feels like I am directly interacting with a company and I feel like my questions or comments will be seen and taken into consideration or directed to the right person.
Really love the YouTube channel for recipes and step by step instructions!
Thanks for the great giveaway!

I liked the fact that they were willing to interact with the social networking sites – I like the videos how to’s. I think they could make their pages on Twitter more “vibrant” and more “alive” — I am a follower on Twitter and fan on Facebook, but rarely see tweets, etc. I think that they could make this “so much better” for themselves and the consumers. Lastly I both use and enjoy Kraft products – which is why I’d love to see more!

I live in the dark ages, so I don’t use Facebook or Twitter, so those channels from Kraft will be of no help to me. However, I did visit the YouTube site and was impressed. The idea of being able to watch a cooking lesson at my convenience is very appealing and their instructions were quite clear.

Well, I found their websites to be very well designed and easy to navigate through. I found the YouTube page good because the videos were very informative and the recipes easy to follow. The Facebook page was alright, although some of the comments were mixed up but they were straightforward with their answers.
Lastly the Twitter page, which I am currently following, is nicely layed out.
I visited them all and I have to say I don’t like it. I think the Kraft website is enough. If we have a comment I’m sure we could post it somewhere on the Kraft website or get in touch with someone there by e-mail.

I didn’t find a lot of info from the Kraft Twitter page that I could use so it might be nice if they sent out Tweets like recipe ideas or links to coupons/promotions. The Kraft youtube page is great. twitter is a good way to get small bits of info and links out to people. Fb site is currently full of nasty comments about the cadbury purchase but I love the recipe links etc on the other pages, might want to move the fan comments so they aren’t on the first page, youtube kept locking up on me but would be a great place for tutorials. Very important for consumers to be able to give feedback to the company even more importnant for the company to respond to it.

I think all consumer products should have some presence (that they routinely utilize) on social networking sites. I have been a fan of Kraft on FB for a long time. But, I have to say, I have not seen any value yet. It seems to be more of a fan hate page, with not communication from Kraft. If you are going to be on social networking sites, you have to provide some added value for consumers to pay attention. I like Twitter, but again, you have to provide something unique. I can go to the Kraft website and get recipes and such, I don’t need thm on Twitter too. I am not a big fan of viewing videos online, so YouTube for businesses doesn’t do much for me.

I don’t participate in Twitter or YouTube, but I am a fan on Facebook. I like that you get more personal responses from Facebook compared to the generic responses you get from customer service.

Social networking is a great way for sellers to be more connected to their buying market! The twitter site is great for what they are using it for..random bits of information that is easily seen. The youtube page is good for interviews and stories on Kraft as an industry. Facebook is the best, by far, in my opinion. It has the ability to be connected through pictures,as well as have discussions from the buying market!

I was surprised. I hadn’t realized you could do that on Facebook. I just thought it was all about The Wall.
Of course, the one thing I don’t like about facebook is “the wall”. It always seems to be filled with ramblings. It looks messy.

I am following on Twitter (user ID Auriette).
My thoughts:
I only joined MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter so that I could enter sweepstakes and contests. I rarely visit MySpace anymore. I have a network of friends on Facebook. I get more annoyed than anything by the commercial posts. Tweets — I’ll read the most recent ones when I sign on, once or twice a day on average. I miss a lot on there and on Facebook. It’s just too much to keep up with. Of course, I’m on the other side of this, too. I have to run a Facebook page for the theatre where I work, and I have a Twitter account there as well. I think a lot of my posts there get overlooked. I think having a good website and a way to contact the company directly for information is far more important than being on social media networks.
YouTube makes more sense; I watched the video on preparing the Philly Swirl Brownies. It was short and easy enough to follow. The videos could be posted on the Kraft Food site, but I guess the company saves money by not hosting those videos on their own servers. A lot of people do spend a lot of time discovering videos on YouTube, so it might reach some different people. I only go to YouTube when someone I know sends me a link to a video that sounds interesting, which is fairly rare.
Auriette´s last blog ..I need a new mattress!
I especially love the YouTube videos. I prefer to SEE something being made instead of just trying to read about it or see a picture. The step by step instructions were great and I’d love to see more of them. THanks.

Since I don’t use any of those sites, and a quick look at their pages can’t give me a really good idea of how they would best be used, I can only give an overview of how I perceive they could be used. For those who are very involved in that type of communication, it is reasonable to have the company available that way. Twitter would seem to be useful mainly for quick updates on specials, etc. Youtube seems to be mainly video oriented, and I suppose some who are just learning to cook or need a new technique for something would find those useful. Facebook seems more ’solid’, the place to put less ephemeral information and links.

My feedback:
Kraft’s Facebook page is a disaster, but not because of Kraft. People have taken to voicing issues on the site that are negative and it has proliferated to the point where the positive feel of the site has diminished greatly. I will very likely not be returning to the site, and I did not fan or join.
Kraft’s Twitter: I signed up to follow and I like the idea of it being in existence. I think it is a good way for them to put out mass communication in a modern manner. I like that they have their youtube addy listed on there as well.
Kraft’s YouTube: I usually prefer Facebook to YouTube, but in this case, it is the opposite. I LOVE the Kraft YouTube site. The videos are fantastic and informative.
How do I feel about Kraft interacting via social networks? I think it is a great idea. I like that despite the negativity on the Facebook site, someone at Kraft was trying to respond to dissenters in a quality manner. I think that shows they care about the consumer… I think every company should have Twitter since it has become so explosive for quick communication, is fun, and it helps consumers feel more connected to the company. And the You Tube site is a great way to increase revenue as the ideas spawned from the site are guaranteed to get consumers out and shopping for products to make those recipes that are looking really delicious, easy, and fun.

It looks like their sites contain a lot of great information! But to be honest, my favorite site of theirs is the recipe site, kraftfoods.com. I pick up most of my recipes there and love the user comments that make the great recipes even better!

like to hear about new products and promotions, also a good way to get in touch with Kraft if needed.
facebook fan of Kraft
I love the ability to interact with Kraft staff, the recipes are great.
Just wanted to let you know I love kraft food magazine and I am looking forward to posts on facebook and other social sites. Thanks for being such a “family friendly” meal planner for me and mine!
I really like the Youtube channel and Facebook page. I felt that both of them did the company justice and I loved that you could see the different recipes. I wasn’t too fond of the Twitter page, but I’m not really a fan of Twitter, so it’s probably fine.

I like their social networks. I think they should offer more coupons for followers and more vegetarian menus.
