Et tu, Today Show?

The Today Show did a segment they called "The Dark Side of Mom Blogs" (sigh), with in-studio guests Isabel Kallman of AlphaMom and Susan Getgood, cofounder of Blog With Integrity. The segment started out with this phrase that you all know I HATE: "So-Called Mom Blogs" WHY, Today Show? Why do you have to throw that mocking "so-called" phrase in? I can almost see your editor making air quotes with his or her fingers while suggesting that wording. We do not write "so-called" Mom Blogs. WE WRITE BLOGS, and we can call them whatever the hell we want! Would you introduce an actor as a "so-called" actor, or a new musician as a "so-called" musician? It's patronizing and I do not like it. I have no idea why there was nothing else going on in the world more important than the burning topic of NEGATIVE BLOG COMMENTS, but I'm wondering, why stop at Mom Blogs?  Will the Today Show be doing an in-depth report on the topic of the dark side of, say, political blogs? Last Wednesday didn't start out well; I hadn't slept much the night before and woke up looking decidedly haggard. I had errands to run and wanted to get them done before lunch, so I left the house with unwashed, bed-headed hair. That was my first mistake. After our first errand, I caught a glimpse of myself in the rearview mirror and made a snap decision. I would go get a haircut. I didn't call Rachael, my regular stylist who has been cutting my hair for almost four years. Oh no, I quickly scanned the available strip-mall options and decided to pull into BoRics.  And let someone NEW cut my hair. That was my second mistake. Shelly was very nice, chatted with Kaitlyn while getting me shampooed and ready in the chair. "So", she said, "what are you looking to have done today?"
