This is my first post for Tackle It Tuesday, a terrific weekly feature that started on 5 Minutes for Mom! We had no specific plans for Memorial Day, so while Chris & the kids were cleaning out the garage – meaning, breaking down all the boxes I had tossed in there over the last month to take to the recycling center – I decided to tackle Kaitlyn’s room. At first I wasn’t going to take a picture because it was just so embarrassing, and then I decided what the heck, it would be a good excuse to do a post for Tackle It Tuesday. Brace yourselves:
Why yes, it DOES look like the Barnes & Noble kids’ section and the Target toy aisle exploded all over her room! Also, last week I asked Nathan to put the laundry away and he whined that he couldn’t put Kaitlyn’s clothes away because he didn’t know what drawers anything went in. So I solved that problem for him:
No more excuses for you, Mister
I’ve always assumed that the goal of Tackle It Tuesday was to show how you completed a project, but I checked with Susan on Twitter and she assured me that it’s okay to just post the beginning of a project – whew! See, I had every intention of Kaitlyn and I actually cleaning her room, but Monday evening I started to feel lightheaded, and it gradually got worse. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and learned I have an ear infection. I feel like I just got off a merry-go-round pretty much all the time right now. So, hopefully by NEXT Tuesday I’ll be posting the follow-up photos showing the CLEAN room!

All I can say – this is a room of a child:)))
Did you know there is already a Mom Reviews site http://www.themomreviews.com/ do you think she is upset that you copied her?

The oldest blog post I can find on that blog is from March 2008 – http://www.themomreviews.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
I created MomReviews in April 2007 – http://momreviews.net/2007/04/05/hello-world/
As you can see from her blog button, the blog used to be called “Therapeutic Reviews and Giveaways by The Mom Jen”, and then at some point she changed it to “The Mom Reviews”. So actually, I could be upset that she copied ME, but you know what? There’s enough room in the blogosphere for everyone. I get plenty of review and giveaway offers and so does she, so I don’t think we are hurting each other’s business prospects any.
Her blog has a great design and she writes well, and I’ve never had a PR person or company say that they thought my blog was hers. So I think we are okay!
kids…i have to admit that my room looked almost the same
Wow! This looks just like my niece’s room! It’s always rewarding to finally see the floor again after spending, literally, a day putting stuff away. It’s also good to get your child involved with the cleanup as well to (hopefully) condition the child to (eventually) start cleaning things up themselves. It’s a long process that eventually gets forgotten as they reach their teenage years, but who says you can’t teach old dogs new tricks?
Speaking of tricks, what a clever idea in making labels for the drawers!! I will definitely have to recommend that to my sister-in-law!
Thanks for this great post and I hope that your ear infection gets better.

It is abnormal when there is an exemplary order in a child’s room and when it is sterile. So don’t bother – everything is as it should be!
