TABASCO Original Red – What Do You Use It On?
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.
TABASCO® Original Red sauce has been a staple in my kitchen pantry for decades. I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of spicy food in general, but my husband LOVES Tabasco. He puts it on tacos, pizza, and even adds more of it to hot wings! Tabasco is made with just three simple ingredients – salt, red pepper and vinegar – that are aged for three years to produce a hot sauce that actually enhances the flavor of food.
If you’re having a Super Bowl party, check out Tabasco’s Game-Day Party Menu where you’ll find recipes for pizza, wings, 35 different kinds of chili, dips, and finger foods like this twist on classic Chex Mix.
Hot & Spicy Party Mix
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 to 3 teaspoons Original TABASCO® brand Pepper Sauce
- 1 1/4 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 8 cups of your favorite Chex® brand cereals (corn, rice and/or wheat)
- 1 cup mixed nuts
- 1 cup pretzels
- 1 cup bite-size cheese crackers
Combine butter, Worcestershire sauce, TABASCO® Sauce, and seasoned salt in a small bowl and mix well. Pour cereals, nuts, pretzels and cheese crackers into a large plastic zip-top bag. Pour butter mixture over cereal mixture inside Zipper Bag. Seal top of bag securely. Shake bag until all pieces are evenly coated.
Pour contents of bag into an open roasting pan. Bake in a 250°F oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool and store as directed above.
Makes 11 cups.

At the bottom of the page are links to 10 ways to doctor up frozen pizza and 10 more ways to doctor up homemade pizza, all using Tabasco sauces. My husband says that putting Tabasco Original Red on pizza gives it the same tanginess he would get from using yellow banana peppers, except with the added heat.
So, what do you use Tabasco sauce on?
Another Sick Day and Alice in Wonderland on Blu-Ray
It started with Kaitlyn and a runny nose last Friday. By Sunday, Ryan had a heavy cough and I had a completely stuffed up nose. I kept Ryan home from school yesterday, and then again today when I heard him still coughing.
I hate being sick. I hate having to constantly blow my nose. I can’t find any hand sanitizer and I don’t have the car to go get some, so I wash my hands about 20 times a day which is making my hands dry.
Waaaahhh, poor me.
I’m up to 36 comments on my 44th birthday post! If you haven’t left a comment there yet, won’t you please do so? I’d really love to see 44 comments
So, there’s the blizzard coming. The news said to expect 40 mile an hour winds and 10 to 18 inches of snow. I had planned to go to the grocery store today to stock up in case we’re snowed in tomorrow, and then Chris’ coworker who drives carpool called in sick, so Chris had to take the car.
I checked the pantry – there’s a couple of big cans of soup, some diced tomatoes, and corn muffin mix. I’m sure I can do *something* with that. Chris is going to try to get to the store after work, I’m nervous about him driving in the first place but he can’t exactly call in sick because there might be a lot of snow AFTER work, you know? I’ll just be biting my nails until he pulls in the driveway.
Ryan and I are bundled under blankets, me with my box of tissues (and a steadily growing pile of crumpled up used ones, I should really get a wastebasket) and him trying to be a tough guy but really feeling pretty miserable, while Kaitlyn bops around the house. I can hear her in her room playing, making up some story for her My Little Ponies or something, she puts a smile on my face.
We’re watching the original Alice In Wonderland, it’s come out on Blu-Ray in a 60th anniversary edition. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment sent it to me for review, and do I recommend you buy it? HECK YES. The transfer looks amazing, every color is bright and vivid. There are two versions you can buy, one is the Blu-Ray + DVD combo pack that I got, it’s $19.99 on Amazon. The other adds a third Digital Copy disc and bumps the price up to $27.99. I was surprised by how much Ryan enjoyed it!
So that’s what’s going on around here. I don’t feel like getting up and doing anything, so I’m just going to keep writing blog posts. And if somebody could just send me a new nose to replace this leaking one, that would be great.
