Women’s Summer Dresses on Sale for Canadian Shoppers

I’m going to three blog conferences this summer, which means I’m going to need to buy at least one nice dress. Before heading out to retail stores, I like checking the store websites to see what’s in stock and what I should expect to pay.  I’m sure my fellow Canadian bloggers do the same, and they can find really great deals on womens dresses, shoes, handbags, sleepwear, maternity clothes, and more on Wishabi.

I like dresses to be casual, like this super cute L.L. Bean Chambray Camp Shirt Dress.  Doesn’t it look comfy? You can’t tell from this photo but the model is wearing heeled booties. I would choose little white sneakers or sandals. It just looks so easy to wear. Besides blue, it also comes in white:

I also like this wrap dress from The North Face – I didn’t even know they made dresses! There’s a review under the picture from a lady who packed it for a backpacking trip and said it was super easy to wash, hang up to dry, and wear again the next day. Sounds perfect! Besides this blue, it also comes in black, and a color the site calls Khaki (it looks almost olive green to me) with a blue and white geometric floral pattern:

We’re on a tight budget as always, so I’ll be concentrating my shopping on womens summer dresses on sale.  Since my first blog event is the weekend after next (yikes!), I’m going shopping this weekend. I’m thinking about starting at Fashion Bug, but I’ll also be heading to Walmart since they carry an excellent selection of plus size clothes.  Have you bought any cute dresses for summer? Any tips on where a short, chubby lady can buy a comfortable summer dress?  If so, tell me about them in the comments! I need all the fashion help I can get :P

Friendly Friday 5-6-11

Wow, this week flew by so fast! It seems like I JUST did my Friendly Friday post from last week! And, to make my Friday even better, Table for Five is one of the three FEATURED BLOGS on Friendly Friday this week! Woo hoo!! Thanks so much to Christi, Charla and Xenia for picking me!

These are the very kind words they used to describe me and my blog:

Elizabeth at Table for Five is the writer behind the original “Table for Five” which she started in September 2005 while on bed rest during her pregnancy. She shares stories and cute pictures of their three kids as well as many reviews and giveaways. She states on her sidebar that if you have a question then email her. Nearly four years ago, Elizabeth answered several emails to help Charla (who she didn’t know) get started with blogging. She’s good about helping fellow bloggers!

Well, thank you very much, ladies! I’m so glad that I was able to help Charla all those years ago, I love helping people start blogs! SO, welcome to Friendly Friday, the weekly celebration hosted by Xenia at Thanks, Mail Carrier, Christi at Frugal Novice and Charla at Healthy Home Blog! We invite you to join us every Friday to make more friends in blogville, get more blog followers and follow other great blogs out there.

To join in the Friendly Friday celebration, include your family-friendly link in our list, follow the hostesses in the first 3 spots and then start blog hopping! Visit other blogs on the list and comment to give them some blog love. Then take a minute to follow them through Google Friend Connect – this is a good way to keep up with other blogs, but also lets us show support to each other! Please DO NOT list your giveaways here, links must be to either your homepage or your Friday posting with your blog title. All others will be deleted.

When people comment on your blog and let you know they’re a part of Friendly Friday, return the favor and follow them back. This way everyone gets traffic and followers out of participating, and it’s a win-win situation. Feel free to right-click on and save the Friendly Friday button and post it on your blog and/or in a post – the more bloggers that find out about Friendly Friday and participate, the better!

Remember, YOU can host the link list on your blog, too! Just get the InLinkz code and copy it directly into your post. The code is different every week, so be sure to get the new code when hosting Friendly Friday on your blog. Hosting the list is a great way to get even more traffic to your blog and make Friendly Friday more beneficial for everyone.

I’m looking forward to a great weekend, it looks like it’s going to be beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures. We need to rake out our shrubs in the front and put down new mulch, and I think we’re going to tackle the very unpleasant but necessary chore of digging out the weeds that have taken over our planting bed on the side of the house. I can’t decide if I want to get potted flowers like Impatiens, or if I want to sprinkle a wildflower seed mix and just see what grows.  If you have flower planting tips, by all means leave a comment! I have black thumbs but a green heart :)

Please add your Friday link to the linky list so I can stop by and wish you a TGIF! Have a great weekend everybody!

Table for Five Readers, Tell Me What To Do

I’m starting to think that there’s something else going on with me that is making me constantly change the theme on this blog. Almost every day I come across a Mom blog with a great design and think oh, I could change my theme to look like that one.

In the last three months I’ve gone through three – or is it four? – theme changes.  I’ve tried Thesis, Genesis plus Lifestyle, Genesis plus Pixel Happy, and then for some reason, last night while watching TV and goofing around, it suddenly occurred to me to see if I could get my old IZEA custom design running.

It’s got to be Blogging 101 that when readers go to a blog, they want to see a consistent design. You don’t see Huffington Post or CNN.com changing their themes every month. They picked one, they stick with it.

The truth is, I don’t really know why I keep changing the themes. What I do know is that I want to STOP changing the themes.  I want Table for Five to have a recognizable design that I’m happy with.

I realize that it’s asking a lot, but if you have an opinion one way or another, would you please leave a comment? The question is this:

WHICH THEME SAYS “I’M READING TABLE FOR FIVE”?

1. The one I’m looking at now, the IZEA custom theme.

2. The theme I was looking at YESTERDAY, the one with the header that looks like this:

3. Some other theme altogether (feel free to leave a link)

Seriously, any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
