Happy Blogiversary dear meeeeee, Happy Blogiversary to me!
Six years, wow. I think back to starting this blog, opening up Blogger and testing out a few names and URLs until I got this one and thinking cool, I have a blog. I had no idea how to do ANYTHING, old Blogger was a pain in the butt to use and I remember how excited I was the first time I figured out how to put an image in a post!
I remembering emailing blog friends for help, how do I make my image of a book link to Amazon, how do I make the font bigger or a different color, it was a whole new world for me. But I kept plugging away, kept making mistakes, kept learning.
I taught myself basic HTML by googling it and going through tutorials. I learned CSS by carefully changing tiny things in my stylesheet (and mucking up the whole thing more than once).
I went to BlogHer, had a revelation, came home, bought my domain name, bought a digital camera, got a Flickr Pro account. Changed my blog’s theme, changed it again, and again.
Blogging is the first creative thing I’ve been good at in my adult life. I tried learning to make baby quilts, I tried learning to crochet, I tried scrapbooking. Blogging has felt as natural to me as breathing since my first post all those years ago. There are lots of things I can’t do, but blogging, that’s something I can do, and I’m proud of that.

Elizabeth – congratulations!!! Six years in the blogging world seems like an eternity. I started my first (of way too many) blogs in May 2006 so I will celebrate #6 in the spring.
