Three kids to get ready for the 2011-2012 school year. One who wants only hot lunch (the oldest) and two that want cold. Three backpacks. Enough folders and loose leaf paper and regular pencils and colored pencils to outfit a classroom.
The surprise of 40 degree weather this morning, a check of the five day forecast on Weather.com, digging fleece hoodies out of the closet.
Spongebob backpack just for Kaitlyn embroidered with her name (shout-out to personalcreations.com) and bearing two large white cards pinned to the front, one telling the Kindergarten teacher that she goes to K.A.P. (Kindergarten Activity Program, basically another half-day of school, just less formal) at 11:40, and one telling the K.A.P. teacher what bus to put her on at 3:30.
New Hello Kitty tennis shoes, new Disney Fairies lunch bag, EasyLunchboxes.com lunch containers.
Forms signed, schedules copied, more forms.
The stress of a morning schedule that includes getting up way too early, driving Chris to carpool, and then racing back just in time to meet the bus, which picks Kaitlyn up directly in front of our house. Crossing my fingers for no traffic jams.
One in High School, one in Middle School, one in Kindergarten. This is going to be a very interesting school year.

I recently mentioned on G+ that 24 hours in a day is just not enough! Do you recall when we were young how all of the new technology we were supposed to be blessed with today would all make our lives so easy and filled with hours upon hours of leisure? Talk about a false bill of goods, our modern lifestyles – as your post clearly exemplifies with this example – are anything but.
I recall – growing up – my own mom always having more than her hands full with just raising me and my sister. Somethings never change I guess – parenting, though incomparably rewarding, will likely always be challenging.

Remember when ATM machines were going to make bank tellers obsolete, when debit cards meant paper money was on it’s way out? How the computer was supposed to REPLACE paper? The more things change, the more they stay the same, as the French say.
My Mom was a teacher, she never talked about feeling overwhelmed, but I’m positive she was. And now that I have all the forms filled out and most of the school supplies purchased, I feel much better!
Those school gears are really priceless for our kids
Sure we have crazy mornings and we have this obligation of not getting beauty rests at night when we school starts. Good luck girls!
I hear ya. I have to get my little brother and sisters to school and this is the first year that they are going to different schools (one in middle school, the other in elementary still). The first week hasn’t been bad, but i just hope nothing comes up that throws a monkey wrench into our routine.
oh my Goddess….I’d be drunk half the time if I had 3 in school at those different levels.

It doesn’t get any easier when they go to university. Today was tuition / book day, car service day, insurance day, residence day … oh the days of worrying about bus schedules! LOL!

I have three little ones, 5(going on 6), 4(JK) and 2 this year. It’s just me and the 2 year old every second day. I do’t NOT remember this kind of quiet in the house, it’s almost eaary. The 2 hours before they go to school and hubby goes to work is controlled chaos but after that it’s just Gracey and me. It’s funny how I thought one was so tough when we had our first and now I’m making lunch for three, doing the laundry, some craft odd and ends for myself, grocery’s, a little school volunteering once a week. It’s amazing how 6 years of diapers and three (sometimes 4!) people depending entirely on you can change your perspective.
