Why? Because I Love You!

Readers, I have a gift for you. You can take it and place it on your blog and hopefully when you look at it you will remember me and how much I APPRECIATE YOU for reading this blog. If you prefer not to place badges on your sidebars, that’s totally okay too. Because today on Table for Five, it’s all about YOU.

You with the kids and the spouse and the job and the blogs of your own, who still come here by feed reader or bookmark or blogroll link, and leave comments and enter giveaways and spread a bit of your sunshine all over the page. You who are a stay at home parent, a work at home parent, a work outside the home parent, or not a parent. You who have one blog, two blogs, more blogs than you can count.

You, who are worried about the economy and the future of the U.S. Presidency and women’s rights, who are battling medical problems and personal problems and trying to scrape together enough money to put gas in your car. You, with the new baby or the teenagers or the grandchildren. You, and you, and YOU. For YOU, I have created this:

CupcakeAward

Cupcake Award1

Would you like different colors to match your blog? Not a problem! Let me know and I can either make it for you or email you the image and you can pretty it up in photobucket or photoshop or whatever you use (I used the editing tools in photobucket for this). I hope you enjoy the award, and thank YOU for being the ICING ON MY CAKE.

Review of PaydayLoanQuotes.com

Payday Loans are small, short-term loans of between $100 and $1500 that are meant to help bridge the time between paychecks when someone might have an emergency and need extra cash. PaydayLoanQuotes.com has an easy, fast online process by which the borrower can submit an application and then hear back from a lender with a quote on the terms of a short-term loan. These are also known as Faxless Payday Loans because all information is submitted online.

The site is very easy to use,and has an extremely comprehensive FAQs section. Everything about how payday loans work, how to apply, payment options, privacy issues, and what to do in case of a problem is clearly spelled out in the FAQs. The online application page asks first for basic information-name, address, driver’s license number, social security number (it is safe to give it out, the site is secure), email address and phone numbers. The next section is job information, including whether the paycheck is in paper form or directly deposited. Payments on Payday loans can be deducted directly from direct deposit income, making repayment very easy.

A bank check with bank account and routing numbers is required, as is a reference. The site says that once all the information is submitted, that a lender will respond within a few minutes and that in most cases, No Fax Payday Loans are approved the same day.

Payday loans should be used only for short-term, emergency needs, and the rates are high-10% and up. But for a true emergency where cash is needed, this is an available option.

Flat Panel TV reviews

My hotel room in Memphis had a flat panel, Dolby Digital, HD TV. I didn’t have much time to actually watch it, but seeing it sitting there on the dresser got me thinking-I would love to have a TV in our bedroom so I could lay in bed at night and fall asleep to old “Law and Order” reruns. And the TV would have to sit on my dresser, so therefore, a flat panel makes the most sense, right? Wize.com is this reviews and ratings website, so I’ve been looking at Flat Panel TVs that could go on my dresser.

Wize.com sorts the Flat Panel TVs reviews into four categories-HDTV ready, High End, Large Screen, and Name Brand. Then for each of those categories, you can sort by relevance, price, and the “WizeRank”, which is the rating that users of the site have given that item. You can also see comments about the items taken from sites like buy.com and Amazon.

So, based on what I found looking at Flat Panel TVs on Wize.com, it looks like I will have to save my money for a while before I can buy a TV for the bedroom. Unless, you know, the money truck pulls up outside the house today and dumps a bag full of money on the porch. Then I’m getting my butt down to Best Buy ASAP!

BP sponsors Solar Decathlon

You’re familiar with Solar power, right? I’m sure it’s probably a lot more popular in states where the sun actually SHINES for most of the year, unlike here in Michigan. In fact, I’m pretty sure my sister, who lives in Oceanside, California, has solar panels in the roof of her house. But what about making an entire house that runs everything using Solar power? That is the challenge being undertaken by twenty teams selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to compete in the Solar Decathlon in Washington, D.C. The teams come from colleges and universities around the world, and they participate in a competition to design, build, and operate the most attractive and energy-efficient solar-powered home.

In October, the teams transport their solar houses to the National Mall in D.C., where they form a solar village. The contests that each team compete in are really cool, for example: in the Appliances challenge, they must wash and dry 12 towels for 2 days; cook and serve meals for 4 days; clean dishes using a dishwasher for 4 days; and operate a TV/video player for up to 6 hours and a computer for up to 8 hours for 5 days. In the Getting Around challenge, they must use the electricity generated by their house to charge street-legal electric vehicles, and they win points based on how many miles their cars run on that charge.

As part of their commitment to discovering cost effective, alternative energy solutions for everyday living, BP is the energy company sponsor, of the 2007 Solar Decathlon. You can learn more about it at the blog set up specifically for the BP Solar Decathlon.

Broadband service in the U.K.

Since I know I have readers overseas, I’ve been asked to write a bit about broadband service in the U.K. Alrighty then! If you aren’t familiar with the term (and I would be surprised, but you never know), Broadband is a type of internet connection that can be accessed through your telephone or cable line. It is faster than traditional dial-up service, and does not tie up your phone line because of a filter that you connect between your phone and the modem. If you are looking to compare broadband providers in the U.K., Broadband suppliers offers reviews, comparisons, and special offers.

The comparison tips page has great information on how to decide which Broadband ISP is right for you, depending on what you are looking for in terms of speed, usage limits, contract length, connection fees, and extras. Also, just like here in the U.S., customers in the U.K. can bundle their Broadband Internet into a package along with their telephone or television service. This website should make it easy for anyone in the U.K. looking for broadband service to find what they need.
