Getting Real About My New Year’s Resolutions

There's something about the promise of a New Year that makes people think they can change their entire life, right? I stopped making New Year's Resolutions years ago, because I was just setting myself up for disappointment come New Year's Eve. "I'm going to lose 80 pounds this year! That's only 6 pounds a month, every month, no problem!" "I'm going to quit smoking this year! I'm sure once I stop, I'll never want another cigarette again!" "I'm going to start exercising this year! How A Blogger Named Suebob Changed My Life – Happy Birthday Suebob!

IzzyMom and Suebob

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.” Today is the birthday of Sue Davis, also known as Suebob, also known as Suebob from Red Stapler, someone a lot of bloggers adore, and when I got an email asking me to post something for her birthday, something that would let her know how special she is to me, I knew exactly what I wanted to post. Izzy emailed me to see if I wanted her BlogHer ticket, … [Read more...]

Just another Manic Monday

I had one of those weekends where both Saturday and Sunday seemed to go by so quickly that it barely felt like they were each made up of 24 hours. I got very little work done around the house, and now I'm sitting here, list of deadlines in front of me, looking around at the piles of stuff everywhere that need my attention, and feeling like I need to split myself half in order to get it all done! My husband left at oh-GOD-it's-early-45 this morning to catch a plane to Edison, New Jersey where he will be working for the next three days. He's done on Thursday and is hoping to hop a train into New York for the day. He loves New York but every time he gets to go it's always such a brief visit. We have been getting along really well lately and are going to miss each other a lot. Kaitlyn keeps saying "Daddy fwying on an aiw-pwane!" So, if you are just joining us, I'd like to recap again some of the big things that are going on here right now: You have until tomorrow, April 8th at 9 … [Read more...]
