I’m a participating blogger in the Jimmy Dean Crumble Rumble! It is ON, people! Jimmy Dean wants to know how YOU will use their new Hearty Sausage Crumbles, whether it’s for breakfast, brunch, an appetizer, or a main dish. Submit two recipe ideas to crumblerumble@mww.com using one bag of Crumbles– one must be a breakfast solution and the second one is up to you. If your recipe wins, YOU get a trip to NYC to attend a taping of the Rachael Ray Show, including airfare and accomodations for two, and I get to come too!
There are three varieties of Jimmy Dean’s Fully Cooked Sausage Crumbles – Original, Hot, and Turkey Sausage. Each 9.6 ounce bag has five 2/3 cup servings, perfect for using in any recipe that calls for cooked crumbled sausage. The contest is open from 10/25 – 11/26, judging by Sara Lee chefs, and the winner will be notified by 12/3/10. Winning recipes will be judged based on the following criteria:
1. Appeal: Does it sound good? Will it make readers want to try the recipe?
2. Originality: Is the recipe itself new and/or creative? Does the recipe stand out?
3. Use of Crumbles: Is it an appropriate use of the product? Do they use the sausage well or in an innovative way in the recipe?
4. Simplicity and Ease: Is the recipe easy to follow? Is the prep time reasonable? Ease of prep. Are the ingredients easy to find? Is the ingredient list reasonable?
5. Clarity and accuracy: Accuracy of the recipe. Clarity in the ingredient list (i.e. if onions are listed, state whether they are red, yellow, pearl, green, white that are called for in the recipe); clarity in the production steps (i.e. if something is cut, approximately what size: roughly chopped, minced, small dice, etc.); Steps written and/or numbered in a logical sequence.

* Prep Time: 5 minutes
* Servings: 2 cups
Ingredients:
* 1 (16-ounce) container Dean’s Ranch Dip
* 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
* 1/4 cup crisp-cooked, crumbled bacon or bacon bits
* Choice of tortilla chips, snack crackers, bagel chips, pita chips, pretzels or fresh vegetables for dipping
Directions:
Combine Dean’s Ranch Dip with cheese and bacon; mix well. Serve with choice of dippers.

When I visited the Campbell’s Kitchens, one of our hands-on demonstrations was how to make our own smoothies using V8 F-Fusion fruit and vegetable juice. We had tasted each of the V-Fusion varieties first, and my favorite was Goji Raspberry, so when it came time to make my smoothie, that’s what I used.
The basic smoothie recipe is 1 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt, 1 cup frozen fruit, and 1 cup juice whirled up in a blender. I used the Goji Raspberry V-Fusion and frozen raspberries, and ended up needing just a pinch of sugar to cut the tartness of the raspberries. It was SO GOOD. This is me in the Campbell’s Kitchens measuring out my smoothie ingredients (and looking over at…someone)

Creating Special Bedtime Moments

I’ve got five copies of the DVD “Soccer Mom” to give away. This is an entertaining movie for kids of all ages, with Emily Osment as Becca, whose soccer team is in desperate need of a good coach, and Missi Pyle as Wendy, her Mom who comes up with a crazy idea to help the girls win. From Amazon-
