Background Story:

When I started doing product reviews and giveaways, I was running BlogHer Ads. Their terms of service said that blogs running their ads couldn’t have other sponsors, so they suggested creating a separate product review blog, which is what I did.

Soon after that though, I decided to stop running BlogHer Ads, which opened Table for Five back up for reviews and giveaways. For over two years, I posted product reviews and hosted giveaways on TWO blogs. I juggled twice the amount of products, twice the emails, twice the scheduling. It wasn’t long before I was, well, driving myself insane.

At the end of last month, for both personal and professional reasons, I announced that I was no longer going to post reviews or giveaways on this blog. I deleted the Reviews & Giveaways Info page, and instead put a link at the top in the navigation bar called “my reviews and giveaways blog” that links directly to MomReviews.

From now on, all emails sent to my table4five@gmail.com address that have anything to do with a review or giveaway will get a reply with a link to MomReviews. PR firms with whom I’ve established a long-term relationship that request something appear here on Table for Five will most likely have their request honored, because ultimately, what I post here is up to me.

I just wanted all of you to know.

Website Review – Fast Water Heater Co.

If you live in California, Oregon, or Washington and own a home, this post might be useful to you. I live in Michigan so I can’t recommend this company personally, but I do own a hot water heater that broke down last year, and finding a company that could come right out and fix it wasn’t as easy as I thought. When you have no hot water at all, hearing someone say “we can come out in four days” is really not helpful. Fast Water Heater Co. asked me to let my readers know that they really are fast – call before noon and you can usually get someone out that same day.

Whether you have a traditional or tankless water heater, San Francisco Bay Area residents as well as residents of service areas in Oregon and Washington can get fast service including getting a new water heater installed and the processing of any required permits based on where you live. The site also has a helpful “Articles” page with articles and resources on how to extend the life of your hot water water as well as tests you can do to determine if your water heater might need servicing, BEFORE it stops working and you are standing in a cold shower with a head full of shampoo Not that I want anyone reading this to have their water heater break down or anything, but if it does, I hope this post helps get it fixed!

Jakks Pacific’s Lucky Bee Bee at the Teen Choice Awards

I’ve been lucky to work with Janis from Jakks Pacific on several review campaigns both on this blog and on MomReviews, and she always seems to know just what products my daughter will love the most. She sent me a Lucky Bee Bee charm necklace and charm dangle, and as expected, Kaitlyn was thrilled.

JAKKS Pacific attended the KIIS FM Teen Choice Awards Gift Lounge on Friday, August 7, 2009 at the W Hotel in Westwood, CA and gifted their new Lucky Bee Bee Bracelets to top celebs like American Idol’s Jordin Sparks and Twilight’s Ashley Green, as well as Style Six Gem Decorators, and a MARBS Marvel 1 of 500 Captain America Exclusive. Remember Candace Cameron from “Full House”? Here she is with her son Matt, with their hands full of Jakks goodies!

Kaitlyn This very blurry photo shows Kaitlyn holding the box that the Lucky Bee Bee charm dangle came in, it’s meant to be clipped to a belt loop or backpack and came with three charms that clip on. Janis from Jakks also sent a charm necklace, with three attachable charms. The charms we got include a fortune cookie that opens on a hinge to reveal a tiny fortune, a nesting doll with a tiny doll inside and another tiny doll inside that one, and a lunchbox that really opens. It’s exactly the kind of dress-up jewelry that little girls love, and the charms can be mixed and matched to personalize the necklace or dangle for the individual likes of the wearer.
