Family Photos Summer 2009

Chris dumped his camera card last night and I found some great photos from this summer, including a trip to a Classic Car Show held in a park across from Lansing Community College and photos from Great Wolf Lodge. Hope you like them!

I love this photo of Nathan SO MUCH. This is inside the “Cub’s Club” room at Great Wolf Lodge, it’s a place kids can play and do arts and crafts. It’s so rare to capture a smile like this on Nathan’s face. I think he’s adorable! :

It turned out to be a pretty great summer :)

Home From Vacation

Am home from vacation.

Head hurts.

Huge sore on top of foot where blister popped after too much walking in bad shoes.

Afraid to check PayPal balance to see how much we spent on snacks and meals out and souvenirs and gas.

Loved Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City.

TOTALLY worth the very reasonable room price.

Indoor waterpark is unbelievable.

Hotel also has it’s own wizards-and-wands game called MagicQuest which the boys loved.

Spent today at Point Betsie on Lake Michigan.

Husband and kids actually changed into swimsuits in the van and SWAM in Lake Michigan.

I got my feet wet.

Have a pocket full of rocks polished smooth from the water.

Other pocket is probably full of sand.

Came home to find pets still alive thanks to very generous friend who came over three times a day.

Hoping headache goes away soon.

Have many, many photos to share of the trip.

Have many, many, many emails to go through, reviews to write, giveaways to start.

Have many, many, many, many wonderful memories from our vacation that I’ll never forget.

Back to School plus photos

Today was the first day of school for the boys. Why so late? Michigan passed a law that school has to start after Labor Day to help with tourism. Although with this economy, I don’t know how many people really went up North this weekend. There were a LOT of garage sales around town.

I had no problem going to bed at 10:00 last night, even though that’s 3-4 hours earlier than I went to bed all summer. I had a throbbing headache in my right temple and I didn’t think I’d be able to fall asleep, but it only took me a few minutes and I was out. The alarm went off at 6:00, I jumped out of bed, and the boys were not only up, but dressed.

Ryan’s been a morning person since he was a preschooler. He started getting himself ready for school in First grade, and in 5th grade when he had to catch a bus at 6:50 AM, he rarely woke us up. We’d wake up when he slammed the door on his way out!

But Nathan is less of a morning person, today’s excitement notwithstanding. I was pleasantly surprised to find him up, dressed, and eating. They both packed their own lunches, and were out the door at 6:45. Since Kaitlyn wasn’t up, I turned on my computer to start clearing out the weekend’s emails. I’ve been very productive this morning!

I’m working really hard at getting caught up on all the reviews I want to post and giveaways I want to run, for two reasons. 1., because I don’t have the boys here to play with Kaitlyn, and I don’t want her watching tv ALL day. 2., we’re going to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City this Friday through Sunday, and although I’m taking my laptop, I’ll be using it to post photos from the trip. I don’t want to have to work on vacation!

So for the next three days, I’ll be working on reviews and giveaways here, on MomReviews, and on MomCooks. Watch Twitter for updates and links :) hey! how about some recent photos of my kids to wrap this post up!

What about your kids? Do you have some in school and some at home?
