Kraft Foods Gift Basket Giveaway

this giveaway is closed.

Kraft Foods, makers of products like Oreos, Ritz crackers, Stove Top stuffing, and Maxwell House coffee, have re-launched their Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages to make it even easier for busy cooks to find great recipes and cooking tips. On their terrific recipe site, Kraft has a Community forum where you can ask questions and share your favorite recipes. I’m not exactly a pro in the kitchen, and I subscribe to Kraft Food & Family magazine for dinner tips, and also rely heavily on the Budget Wi$e section of the Kraft website, especially their  “1 Bag, 5 Dinners” menus.  We also use a lot of Kraft Food products, so I’m thrilled to be helping them with this giveaway!

To help spread the word about all the ways you can interact with Kraft Foods, they sent me a gift basket full of products, and will send one to the winner of this giveaway.

The HUGE gift basket is packed with food and kitchen items including new varieties of Ritz crackers, Velveeta Rotini & Cheese, and Wheat Thins.

The products in the gift basket are NEW Ritz Brown Sugar & Cinnamon crackers, Oreos, Planters Cocktail Peanuts, Honey Maid Cinnamon Grahams, Stove Top Stuffing, NEW Wheat Thins Flatbread crackers, Maxwell House coffee, Planters Pecan halves, Baker’s Semi-Sweet chocolate, Kraft salad dressing, Jet-Puffed marshmallows, NEW Velveeta Whole Grain Rotini & Cheese, a garlic peeler, a wooden spoon, and recipe cards.

Wanna guess how long all of this lasted in my house? The only thing we haven’t finished is the can of coffee!  Those Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Ritz crackers?  I would have never in a million years guessed that I would love those as much as I did. I can’t wait for them to be available in stores!

Riches Beyond Compare

My Mother’s Day this year went so far beyond my usual expectations. I knew my husband and boys had a shopping trip planned for Saturday, and I had handed Ryan a page torn out of a magazine with two things circled on it- a digital photo keychain sold at Target and the Gold’s Gym workout for the Wii.

Friday afternoon, Nathan came home from school and said “Mama, I know Mother’s day is Sunday, but I can’t wait to give you this”:

paper-bag-and-bowl

The bag is decorated with images of the stickers that are on my laptop and the names of two of my blogs!   When Nathan made this, his right hand was in a splint, so he was writing and sculpting that clay bowl using his left hand (he’s right-handed) and only the four fingers of his right hand.

I was blown away that he made something so pretty for me AND remembered the names of my blogs, too. He’s such a great son!

Saturday evening, Nathan went to spend the night at a friend’s house, and Chris, Ryan, Kaitlyn and I went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant that we all love – although we ate at a different location that doesn’t have it’s own site.  We drove around for a while after that and then stopped at our favorite soft serve ice cream place for small chocolate/vanilla twisty cones.

And then we came home and watched Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan on Blu-Ray, because another Mother’s Day present Chris gave me was kicking in the extra money I needed to buy the Blu-Ray player I’ve been saving for!  Not only am I blown away by the picture and the amazing sound quality, but I’m hooked on the YouTube videos I can watch too.  I knew I wanted a Blu-Ray, I just didn’t know how much I would love it!

Now, I knew Chris and Ryan had gone shopping on Saturday, but after everything I had already gotten, I thought some nice cards would be just fine. Instead, Chris got up early on Sunday morning and he and Ryan made breakfast! After receiving a mug of coffee directly to my bedside, I was directed to come to the kitchen table where I found fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and pan-fried hash browns waiting.  And presents! I got “Breaking Dawn” in hardcover, and the Gold’s Gym workout for the Wii!

I could not be luckier to have such a wonderful husband and such amazing children. They do so much for me every day. The day after Mother’s Day should be called “Remembering Why I’m So Lucky To Be A Mom” Day :)

Video of dolphins makes me feel a bit better

I’m trying so hard to deny being sick, because someone has to change Kaitlyn and you know, interact with her, and keep the boys from rotting their brains with too much Rock Band, and feel Chris’ forehead and suggest he not go into work tomorrow even though it’s been two days.

You know what helps when I’m sick? YouTube. There is just so much fun stuff to watch there, like this really great video called “dolphin bubbles“. It’s just like it sounds, a video of  dolphins, at SeaWorld Orlando’s Dolphin Cove, playing with a bubble ring! Really, it is so cute. It’s only a minute long, I wish it was longer so I could stare at it; I think this video could have magic de-stressing properties. Watch:

The related blog, at http://www.dolphinbubbles.com, was created specifically for posts by real families visiting SeaWorld Orlando. You can see photos of families feeding the dolphins, there are links to other SeaWorld websites, and you can even book a vacation to SeaWorld right from the dolphinbubbles.com site.

We went to SeaWorld in Ohio when the boys were 3 and 1, but we figured they were too little to participate in dolphin feeding.  Unfortunately for us, that location is closed, there are SeaWorlds in Orlando, San Diego California, and San Antonio Texas. I’d love to go again while the boys are still young enough to enjoy it.  So if anybody reading this wants to send a family of five to a SeaWorld for a first-hand review, please let me know! :)

Tell me in the comments, what did you think of the video? Have you been to SeaWorld? Would you like to go?
